Porsche is ready to shake the racing community once again with its latest innovation. The German performance sports car manufacturer has finished the development process of its newest race-ready car, called Porsche 911 Cup (Generation 992.2), before its official debut in Summer 2025. The model is aimed to perform in the 2026 season, including Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and various Carrera Cup championships globally.

With a strong focus on performance, safety, aerodynamics, and sustainability, Porsche 911 Cup has not only pushed the boundaries of Porsche’s motorsport engineering but also showcased the brand’s leadership in making industry-leading performance cars for its audience.
Porsche has decades decades-long history of making iconic race cars and making a lasting impression in flagship sports car racing championships. Since 1990, the Porsche 911 has been one of the flagship models, making its first debut in the German Porsche Carrera Cup and then entering Formula 1 Grand Prix events. With an exclusive lineup of race cars, Porsche’s racing calender spans more than 12 countries, including Japan, the Middle East, America, and Europe. With over 5,381 race-ready 911 Cup cars, this platform has been one of the most successful racing car models for the company. All these iconic models are built in Porsche’s Zuffenhausen factory alongside road-going 911s.
The New Porsche 911 Cup was built at Porsche Motorsport in Weissach, with production commencing in January 2024. While it borrows the character of the previous generation 992.1, the new iteration is even more refined and more race-focused.

As part of crucial upgrades, the new Porsche 911 Cup Generation 992.2 includes improved front-end aerodynamics for better grip and stability, enhanced vehicle handling and drivability, electronics and braking upgrades, and a more refined six-cylinder boxer engine, and improved safety equipment across the cabin and chassis. The new Porsche race car also has optimized racing tyres developed in partnership with Michelin.
During the development phase, the model underwent track testing at Lausitzring, Monza, and Porsche’s Weissach test facility, where it was driven by experienced drivers like Bastin Buus, Klaus Bachler, Laurin Heinrich, and Marco Seefried.
In a major step towards sustainability, Porsche has built and tested the new 911 Cup with a high-performance eFuel blend, the same blend used in the 2025 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. With this fuel, the model ensures up to 66% CO2 emission reduction compared to traditional fuels. It also has 79.7% of renewable content that includes methanol-to-gasoline and waste-based ethanol. This fuel has an octane rating of 100.5 RON and compliance with FIA’s Appendix J for advanced sustainable fuels.
All in all, the Porsche 911 Cup is not just the upgraded version of the previous 992.1 but also boasts the heritage of track precision with production efficiency. The new 911 Cup, with its impressive production run, racing performance, and limited availability, will certainly become a highly demanded model among sports car collectors and track-day enthusiasts.
In the UAE, Porsche has several high-end performance models for sale, including the Porsche 911, Porsche 718, Taycan, Panamera, Macan, and Cayenne.
