New Audi RS3 revealed
Updated version of flagship hot hatch
Minor styling tweaks
No more power than before
Tweaked suspension yields Nurburgring lap record
On sale in September from £59,510
The Audi RS3 has received a facelift to keep it updated, though its 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine remains the same. The main updates focus on the suspension for better handling, making it the fastest in its class around the Nurburgring, surpassing the Mercedes-AMG A45 S.

The new Audi RS3 looks mostly the same but has a few updates for a fresher look. The front bumper has a new vent design, the headlights are slightly slimmer with a new daytime running light, and the grille now features a blacked-out Audi badge.

You can still choose between saloon and hatchback versions, and there are new alloy wheel designs. At the rear, there are updated tail lights and a larger diffuser.

The new Audi RS3 retains its 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder engine with 400hp and 500Nm of torque, delivered to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. While it’s 21hp less powerful than the Mercedes-AMG A45 S, it's only 0.1 seconds slower, reaching 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds.

The new Audi RS3 isn't more powerful, but it's much quicker on the track, setting a Nurburgring record for compact cars by finishing a lap in 7:33 minutes, over five seconds faster than before.
The new Audi RS3 features a torque splitter that adjusts power between the rear wheels for better grip, along with upgraded standard tires. Optional semi-slick tires are also available for enhanced performance.

The interior of the new Audi RS3 remains similar to the previous model, but it now features a new sports steering wheel and new bucket seats. Audi has also focused on ensuring the cabin smells premium by testing the leather and plastics used.

The new Audi RS3 will be available for order starting in September, with a price increase of a few thousand pounds compared to the previous model. The hatchback starts at £59,510, about £4,000 less than the Mercedes-AMG A45 S, while the saloon version is priced at £60,510.
The new Audi RS3 brings subtle design updates and improved handling, making it faster on the track, even though its power remains unchanged. With a price increase, it still undercuts its main competitor, the Mercedes-AMG A45 S, offering a compelling option in the compact performance car segment.
