The recall affects 2019–2023 GLE and GLS models equipped with the NAG3 automatic transmission and M256 engine. This information was specified by Gargash Enterprises, an authorized importer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the Northern Emirates, as well as by the brand’s authorized importers in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah.
Mercedes-Benz AG has discovered problems with the transmission control unit software in specific GLS and GLE models, particularly those built on the 167 platforms. The software may not meet the necessary specifications, according to their findings.
According to the authorized local importers, 2,521 vehicles are affected by the recall campaign. The vehicle identification numbers for these vehicles range from 167 A001707 to A998465 and 167 8001073 to B005639.
The recall is being conducted in coordination with the Ministry of Economy’s Consumer Protection and Commercial Control Department. This joint effort highlights the emphasis on consumer safety. By collaborating with regulatory authorities, the automaker aims to adhere to strict quality regulations and standards.
