Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the 2027 C-Class facelift, featuring Euro 7-compliant 48V mild-hybrid engines, an upgraded C 400 e PHEV with 100 km EV range, and an AI-driven MB.OS system.
The 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has received its most significant technical update to date. This overhaul follows the launch of the electric C-Class sedan in Europe. The Saloon and Estate models continue to offer combustion and plug-in-hybrid powertrains, while introducing a major software upgrade. Orders for the updated C-Class open on 18 August 2026. In Germany, the C 200 Saloon starts at €48,844 including VAT, but excluding delivery or factory-collection costs.
The refreshed C-Class features major changes to its powertrains and onboard software. Mercedes-Benz has revised the engine lineup to meet upcoming Euro 7 emissions standards. The updated 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines now use 48-volt mild-hybrid technology and a second-generation integrated starter-generator.
The M 254 EVO 2.0L petrol engine introduces a 48-volt electric auxiliary compressor. This compressor reduces turbo lag at low engine speeds by spinning up within milliseconds to support the main turbocharger. It bridges the response gap before the exhaust-driven turbocharger reaches full boost, resulting in more linear power delivery.
The OM 654 EVO diesel engines feature 2,200-bar common-rail injection and can run on HVO100, B10, and B20 fuels. The C 400 e 4MATIC plug-in hybrid offers an electric-only range of up to 100 km WLTP. Charging is supported at up to 11 kW AC and 55 kW DC.
Exterior changes give the 2027 C-Class a more distinctive appearance. The redesigned radiator grille features hot-stamped chrome-look stars and an illuminated contour. Illumination of the central Mercedes star varies by market. New front bumpers include high-gloss black air intake inserts and refined chrome lower trim strips. The AMG Line Plus package adds black spoiler elements and dark accents for a sportier look.
Inside, the new MB.OS software architecture underpins the fourth-generation MBUX infotainment system. A floating 11.9-inch portrait touch display works with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. The MBUX Virtual Assistant uses multi-agent AI to enable natural, contextual conversations. Occupants can search for parking, find music or podcasts, and request route information by voice.
Driving dynamics benefit from tighter suspension mounting and retuned adjustable damping. The four-link front suspension and five-link rear setup reduce body roll and sharpen handling. An optional rear-axle steering system turns the rear wheels up to 2.5 degrees in opposite directions at low speeds, reducing the turning circle to 10.64 meters. At higher speeds, the rear wheels steer in parallel to improve stability during lane changes.
Cabin quietness improves with targeted acoustic seals and redesigned side mirror aerodynamic bases. The update places equal emphasis on software and revised combustion and hybrid powertrains. Google Cloud AI tools and Euro 7-compliant engines aim to keep the C-Class competitive as rivals increase their focus on software and electrification.
