For 2025, Lexus is updating its largest SUV with the introduction of the new Overtrail grade, specifically designed for off-roading. This trim, for the first time, features a hybrid powertrain in the LX 700h. Both the 2025 LX 700h and the Lexus LX 600 luxury SUVs are anticipated to launch early next year.

Before the LX 700h's introduction, the LX was the only Lexus model without an electrified variant. The new LX 700h features a parallel hybrid system, pairing an electric motor with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 petrol engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. This engine also powers the updated Toyota Land Cruiser 300. With four-wheel drive, the LX 700h delivers a combined output of 463 hp and 790 Nm.

The LX lineup now includes quicker wireless charging pads and a refreshed 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The Executive and VIP versions feature massage programs with adjustable intensity levels. Lexus has also introduced the off-road-focused "Overtrail" edition, also available on models like the new Lexus GX. This edition includes all-terrain tires, distinctive alloy wheels, a rugged cabin with ash burl black accents, low-saturation upholstery, and a unique Moon Desert paint finish.

The Overtrail package enhances the LX's off-road performance with front and rear differential locks, plus a central differential lock, which comes standard on all LX trims. This setup makes the SUV ideal for tough driving conditions and rough terrains.
The updated LX lineup, including the LX 700h, will debut in North America, targeting buyers seeking performance and luxury. After its North American launch, the LX 700h and other refreshed models will roll out to additional markets.
The 2025 Lexus LX 700h marks a significant step in the LX lineup with its new hybrid powertrain, blending luxury and off-road capabilities. With advanced features, improved technology, and the rugged Overtrail edition, the refreshed LX series caters to those seeking both performance and comfort, making it a versatile choice for various driving conditions.
