Dacia, Renault's budget brand, has revealed the Bigster ahead of its official debut on October 17 at the Paris Motor Show.
The Bigster is a larger version of the compact Duster, with a 43 mm longer wheelbase and an extra 230 mm in length. Initially expected to be a seven-seater, Dacia has chosen a five-seater layout, providing about 667 litres of boot space.

The Bigster shares a similar exterior design with the new Duster, but it’s larger in size. Both SUVs have the same front fascia, although the Bigster has a slightly updated bumper with bold fog lamp housing. Their side profiles are alike, featuring the same alloy wheel design. At the rear, the Bigster has a sturdy bumper and stylish tail lights, giving it a more muscular appearance.

The Bigster's interior resembles the Duster's, featuring a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen and a choice of a 10 or 7-inch digital instrument cluster. Depending on the variant, it offers an ADAS suite and key features such as a panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, wireless charging, Arkamys audio system, dual-zone climate control, and a powered driver's seat.
The Bigster, based on the Duster, comes with three powertrain options, including a hybrid system. This hybrid setup pairs two electric motors with a four-cylinder petrol engine, producing a combined output of 155 hp, and is paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox.

The second option offers a mild-hybrid system with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine, featuring optional four-wheel drive and a six-speed manual gearbox. The third option is a 1.2-litre LPG-powered turbo-petrol engine, with a 49-litre LPG tank and a 50-litre petrol tank, providing a range of about 1,450 km.
While European markets are unlikely to receive a diesel-powered Bigster, it is expected to be available in certain developing markets. No information is yet available regarding its launch in the UAE.
