Isuzu's electric transformation of the D-Max marks a move towards sustainable mobility.
The decision reflects Isuzu's commitment to reducing emissions and addressing environmental concerns.
The electric makeover demonstrates Isuzu's innovative approach to vehicle development.
The introduction meets the rising demand for eco-friendly vehicles among consumers.
Isuzu's move underscores the advancing adoption of electric technology in the automotive sector.
Isuzu reveals its first battery electric vehicle, a variant of the D-Max midsize pickup. It will retain the towing and payload capacity similar to its turbodiesel counterparts. The new electrified model will make its debut on March 27 at the Bangkok International Motor Show. Additionally, Isuzu will offer a glimpse of another D-Max prototype equipped with a mild-hybrid diesel. Although, there is no certainty about its production status.
The Isuzu D-Max electric variant will be able to tow up to 3.5 tonnes and will come equipped with a four-wheel-drive system.
Isuzu has announced that the D-Max EV would have a battery capacity of 66.9 kWh, but it has not revealed the overall range. With a maximum speed of 81 mph, the electric motor will generate approximately 174 horsepower.

The front end of the Isuzu D-Max BEV is visually arresting, with a covered grille with blue highlights. The "EV Concept" emblems on the profile and the new six-spoke wheels compliment the dual-cab body, which appears to have been influenced by the ICE-powered D-Max. Whether or not this prototype will be followed in the production version is still up in the air.
Isuzu intends to introduce the D-Max BEV in a few European areas by 2025. Depending on demand and the advancement of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, the model may then be expanded to Thailand, the UK, Australia, and other locations.

We're hoping for a quick arrival of the D-Max BEV in the UAE. When it makes its debut in the UAE, it will go up against other dependable electric pickup trucks like the Tesla Cybertruck.
The upcoming electric transformation of the Isuzu D-Max represents a significant shift towards sustainable mobility in the automotive industry. By adapting this popular model to run on electric power, Isuzu is demonstrating its commitment to reducing carbon emissions and meeting the growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles.
This transformation not only highlights Isuzu's innovative approach to vehicle design but also underscores the importance of embracing electric technology to address environmental concerns. With the electric D-Max, Isuzu is paving the way for a greener and more sustainable future in the automotive world.
