BMW has had a busy year with many new launches, and the excitement continues. The second-gen BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is set to be revealed soon, but images have already leaked online, courtesy of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
The leaked images suggest that the updated 2 Series Gran Coupe will come in a long-wheelbase version, marking a significant change from the current model. This facelift hints at possible upgrades and design changes.
Leaked images suggest the 2 Series Gran Coupe will have a new front design, similar to the updated 1 Series. The refreshed model includes a lower front, angled headlamps, sharp lines, a wider dual kidney grille, and a large, three-part air dam with a broad front bumper. M Sport versions will feature a blacked-out look, while chrome accents will be common in the standard model.
The doors and side profile remain mostly unchanged, but the rear now sports taillamps similar to the BMW X1 and a sharper boot design, with the license plate moved between the taillamps.
Leaked images suggest the LWB BMW M235 L, aimed at competing with the LWB Mercedes A-Class sedan, will be offered exclusively in China. With an extended wheelbase and performance upgrades, this top model is expected to rival the Mercedes-AMG A 35 L. The design updates of the LWB version also apply to the standard coupe sedan.
