Automobili Pininfarina has revealed the Battista Targamerica, the world’s first custom-built electric hypercar. Created for a notable car collector who already owns a Battista, this unique model was showcased at The Quail during Monterey Car Week. It's also the brand's first vehicle made for a client in this bespoke way.
The Battista Targamerica was ordered at the 2023 Monterey Car Week and will be delivered to the client at the 2024 event, exactly one year later. The name 'Targamerica' reflects its roofless design and its base in the U.S. Pininfarina says this unique electric hypercar is made to the owner's exact specifications.
Inspired by the unique 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider also designed by Pininfarina, the Targamerica is the only Battista with an open-top Targa design. This required redesigning the rear section to fit the roofless style and rear luggage opening.
The Targamerica is silver with blue and black accents. It features hand-painted blue pinstripes on the underside of the rear wing, ceramic-polished five-spoke alloy wheels with black center caps, custom door plates, and a brushed and anodized trim.
The Targamerica has been carefully crafted by artisans at Cambiano in partnership with Pininfarina SpA. Dave Amantea, chief design officer at Automobili Pininfarina, stated that the Battista Targamerica is a unique creation that will never be made again.
Inside, the Targamerica has tan leather seats with contrasting black leather on the steering wheel and dashboard. It also includes custom headrests with the Pininfarina ‘F’ logo and special design details tailored to the owner.
A standout feature is the cigar holder and humidor built into the cabin between the seats. This aluminum and glass compartment holds up to three cigars and is backlit in colors that match the five drive modes of the Battista. The car also includes a luggage set in the same tan leather as the seats, with the Targamerica silhouette embossed on it.
The Targamerica has the same mechanical setup as the regular Battista. It uses four motors, one for each wheel, producing 1,900hp and 2,340Nm of torque. It runs on a 120kWh battery that charges at up to 180kW. Pininfarina says it can accelerate from 0-100kph in under 2 seconds and reach a top speed of over 300kph.
The Battista Targamerica, a unique open-top electric hypercar, combines custom design with impressive performance. Handcrafted with personalized touches and a high-tech cigar humidor, it maintains the powerful specs of the regular Battista, including a 1,900hp quad-motor setup and rapid acceleration. With its distinctive design and cutting-edge technology, the Targamerica stands out as a one-of-a-kind creation that showcases Pininfarina’s expertise and commitment to luxury.
