Hyundai Motor Group has signed an MoU with the APEC Preparatory Office under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to deliver official vehicles for the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting, which is scheduled to start from October 31, 2025, to November 1, 2025, in Gyeongju, Korea.

As part of the deal, about 200 vehicles will be deployed, including 113 Genesis G90 sedans, 74 Genesis G80 sedans, three Universal hydrogen electric buses, and two mobile office buses. These vehicles will be employed as protocol vehicles for operational support during the meeting and will also be allocated for various related events beforehand.

The APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting is being hosted in Korea after 20 years since the 2005 meeting in Busan. It will bring global leaders together from 21 member economies to discuss key issues in trade, diplomacy, and sustainable development under the core theme of Building a Sustainable Tomorrow: Connect, Innovate, and Prosper.
Ilbum Kim, EVP and Head of Global Policy Office at Hyundai Motor Group, emphasized the honor of the company to sponsor the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting and also assured to contribute to the successful hosting of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Gyeongju.
With its flagship luxury sedans, the Hyundai Motor Group will aim to demonstrate superior quality, performance, competitiveness, and luxurious features of its vehicles on the global stage.
Hyundai Group has consistently supported major global events by offering official vehicles, including the 2024 Korea-Africa Summit in Seoul, the 2023 G20 New Delhi Summit, the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, and the 2022 G20 Bali Summit.
In the UAE, Hyundai’s luxury vehicle arm Genesis has a strong product lineup for the Emirati customers, including the Genesis G70 Shooting Brake, G70, G80, G90, and Electrified G80. These global events help the brand strengthen its position as a reliable luxury car brand as well as build customer trust.
