-Ferrari focuses on quality, not sales forecasts.
The Purosangue SUV aims for less than 20% of total sales.
Ferrari plans to boost profitability per car and enter new markets.
Production of the 12Cilindri will match the 812.
Ferrari expands into different car segments with new models.
Ferrari has successfully combined modern technology with heritage in the 12Cilindri, its newest creation following the 812 Superfast. Recently revealed in Miami, it emphasizes a potent 12-cylinder engine.
Continuing the tradition of the 812 Superfast, the 12Cilindri introduces a new design approach, enhanced power, and innovative features. Ferrari maintains its iconic naturally aspirated V12 6.5-liter engine, making significant investments to meet Euro 6e emission regulations.

Ferrari revealed both the convertible Spider and hard-top coupé variants at the same time, priced at EUR 435,000 and EUR 395,000 (approximately AED 1,721,121 and 1,562,857) respectively in Italy.
According to Flavio Manzoni, Ferrari's chief design officer, the 12Cilindri marks the beginning of a new era, moving away from the sculptural aesthetics of its predecessor, the 812 Competizione. The car seamlessly blends aerodynamic needs and technical elements into its design, paying homage to Ferrari's heritage while embracing a more intuitive approach.
The meticulous attention to detail is clear in features like the raw carbon fiber body parts, rear-hinged hood, and larger, purpose-driven wheels. Rear flaps are integrated to boost downforce during high-speed driving, highlighting Ferrari's dedication to functional design.

The enhanced 'F140HD' V12 engine in the 12Cilindri delivers 830 horsepower and 678 Newton-meters of torque, propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, with a top speed surpassing 340 km/h. Ferrari reduced the weight of the camshaft by 3%, conrods by 40%, and pistons by 2%, while integrating Formula 1-inspired features such as shorter manifold tracts, sliding finger valvetrain followers, and modified cam profiles.
Gianmaria Fulgenzi, Chief Product Development Officer, reiterates Ferrari's dedication to the V12 engine despite some regulatory adjustments.
The 12Cilindri has undergone significant structural enhancements, including a 20 mm reduction in wheelbase to 2,700 mm, improving responsiveness and agility compared to the 812. The introduction of new Michelin and Goodyear tires, along with rear-wheel steering, enhances stability and cornering performance. Moreover, the chassis now boasts approximately 15% higher torsional stiffness, achieved through a reduction in chassis castings from 22 to 17.
The braking capabilities are improved with the inclusion of the ABS-Evo system and brake-by-wire technology borrowed from the 296 GTB. Despite a slight weight gain of approximately 35kg compared to the 812 Superfast, Ferrari underscores the overall excellence of the 12Cilindri.
The interior layout resembles that of the Purosangue, providing enclosed 'cockpits' for both passengers and drivers with individual digital displays. However, unlike the Purosangue, the 12Cilindri features a 10.25-inch central infotainment touchscreen but does not include a built-in navigation system, opting instead for smartphone mirroring.

The steering wheel is equipped with capacitive controls and the Manettino drive mode selector. Physical switches on the steering wheel evoke the nostalgia of Ferrari's manual gear selectors, adding a nostalgic flair. The coupe model includes a glass roof, while the retractable top of the Spider variant can be operated in 14 seconds at speeds of up to 45 km/h, albeit with a reduction in boot space of approximately 100 liters.
Gianmaria has opted not to reveal sales projections, highlighting Ferrari's emphasis on quality. Previously, the company indicated that the Purosangue SUV would represent less than 20 percent of overall sales.
Galliera stresses Ferrari's growth strategy, which focuses on boosting profitability per vehicle and venturing into new market segments. He also notes that the production volume of the 12Cilindri will be comparable to that of its predecessor, the 812.
Ferrari's executives maintain a stance of prioritizing quality over sales forecasts, highlighting the brand's commitment to excellence. With the introduction of the 12Cilindri and the forthcoming Purosangue SUV, Ferrari aims to expand into new market segments while maintaining profitability per vehicle sold. This strategy underscores Ferrari's dedication to both tradition and innovation as it navigates the evolving automotive landscape.
