The updated Kia EV6 is set to be revealed later this month, approximately three years after the original version was launched. Kia has released the first official pictures of the upcoming EV, revealing notable changes. The new design of the Kia EV6 takes cues from the EV9, representing a significant transformation in the model's look.
The front of the car showcases the signature tiger-nose grille, now enhanced for a more striking appearance. Slim daytime running lights are paired with a blade-like grille panel. At the rear, there's a subtle update to the rear light bar. These exterior changes are accompanied by a new alloy wheel design.
The updated EV6's interior is anticipated to include an easy-to-use infotainment system, adopting the same 'triple panorama display' layout as the EV9. This layout comprises a 12.3-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital driver's display, resembling the current EV6. Additionally, it will feature a smaller 5.3-inch touchscreen for climate control.
Similar to the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the updated EV6 is anticipated to feature a larger 84 kWh battery pack. Earlier this year, the Ioniq 5 received an upgrade, boosting its powerpack from 77.4 kWh to 84 kWh. Hyundai also improved the Ioniq 5's body structure to enhance agility and stability, along with adding extra sound insulation for increased refinement. These enhancements may also be incorporated into the refreshed EV6.
The updated EV6 will first debut in Korea before being introduced to other markets worldwide.
The refreshed version of the Kia EV6 is set to make its debut initially in Korea, followed by launches in other global markets. With significant exterior updates inspired by the EV9 and anticipated interior enhancements, along with the potential adoption of a larger battery pack similar to the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the facelifted EV6 promises to offer an exciting blend of style, technology, and performance for electric vehicle enthusiasts worldwide.
