Volkswagen's new EV brand, Scout Motors, has teased the upcoming reveal of its electric SUV and pickup truck on October 24. The U.S.-based subsidiary will handle their development.
Scout Motors plans to start making its new electric SUV and pickup truck by early 2026 at a plant near Columbia, South Carolina. The facility might also build other Volkswagen models. Scout is collaborating with Magna International on these vehicles, which will use a new body-on-frame platform.
The design of these models features retro-futuristic elements inspired by the 1970s International Harvester Scout II, including distinctive C-pillars and vertically stacked tail-lights. Some versions will offer both road and off-road capabilities.
