Lotus Emira 420 Sport Launches in UAE as Brand's Most Powerful Flagship Sports Car

Lotus has officially introduced the Emira 420 Sport in the UAE, bringing the brand's most powerful and performance-focused Emira to the Middle East. The new flagship arrives through AGMC, the official Lotus distributor in the UAE since June 2026, marking the first Lotus launch in the country under the new partnership.

Positioned at the top of the Model Year 2027 Emira lineup, the Emira 420 Sport combines higher performance, reduced weight, enhanced aerodynamics, and greater personalization. Lotus also claims it is the world's fastest four-cylinder production car, thanks to its 300 km/h top speed.

Lotus Emira 420 Sport Engine and Performance

Powering the Emira 420 Sport is a Mercedes-AMG-derived 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 416 bhp (421 PS) and 500 Nm of torque. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission featuring revised shift calibration for faster and smoother gear changes.

Compared with the previous AMG-powered Emira First Edition, the new flagship delivers an increase in power while maintaining Lotus' trademark lightweight philosophy.

Performance Figures

  • Engine: 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder (Mercedes-AMG derived)
  • Power: 416 bhp (421 PS)
  • Torque: 500 Nm
  • Transmission: 8-speed dual-clutch automatic
  • Drivetrain: Rear-wheel drive
  • 0–100 km/h: 3.9 seconds
  • 0–200 km/h: 12.47 seconds
  • Quarter mile: 11.91 seconds
  • Top speed: 300 km/h

These figures make the 420 Sport the quickest and fastest four-cylinder production model Lotus has ever built.

Sharper Chassis and Improved Aerodynamics

Beyond the extra power, Lotus has significantly upgraded the car's dynamics.

The suspension has been lowered by 5 mm, while revised cooling ducts and seven new aerodynamic enhancements improve airflow, brake cooling, and high-speed stability without increasing drag.

Drivers seeking maximum track performance can opt for the Lightweight Handling Pack, which reduces vehicle weight by 25 kg while simultaneously generating 25 kg of additional downforce, enhancing cornering capability and overall agility.

Carbon Fibre Design and Exclusive Styling

The Emira 420 Sport becomes the first Emira available with exposed exterior carbon fibre.

The optional Carbon Fibre Pack adds lightweight carbon components including:

  • Front splitter
  • Wheel-arch vents
  • Side sills
  • Side air intakes
  • Rear lip spoiler
  • Rear diffuser surround

The launch model is finished in Tangelo Orange, continuing Lotus' tradition of using vibrant orange paint on its most focused performance cars.

  • Multiple wheel, brake caliper, coachline, and exterior accent options

Premium Cabin With New Open-Air Experience

Other interior upgrades include:

  • Carbon-fibre gearshift paddles
  • Exclusive 420 Sport treadplates
  • Optional Interior Carbon Fibre Pack
  • Hand Painted Pack with Tangelo Orange accents

For the first time on any Emira, Lotus also introduces a removable tinted glass roof panel, inspired by the legendary Esprit. The roof can be removed in minutes and stored behind the seats, allowing drivers to enjoy an open-air driving experience without compromising practicality.

The New Flagship of the Emira Range

The Emira 420 Sport now sits above the:

  • Emira Turbo
  • Emira Turbo SE
  • Emira V6 SE

The "Sport" badge has historically been reserved for Lotus' most focused road-going models, joining an iconic lineup that includes the Esprit Sport 300, Elise Sport 220, Exige Sport 380, and Evora GT410 Sport.
