The UAE is celebrating its 53rd National Day, which this year is also called Eid Al Etihad, meaning Celebration of the Union. The Ministry of Interior has set guidelines for safety and smooth celebrations.
Here’s all the important information on the new traffic rules and fine discounts announced for Eid Al Etihad.

As National Day celebrations approach, it’s crucial for drivers, passengers, and pedestrians to follow traffic rules closely. The Ministry of Interior stresses the importance of compliance to prevent fines or accidents during the festivities.

No Performing Stunts or Dangerous Maneuvers: Avoid risky actions on roads.
Keep Roads Unobstructed: Ensure your vehicle doesn’t block traffic or emergency vehicles.
No Unauthorized Exhaust Modifications: Avoid changes that create noise or hinder visibility.
Decoration shops and vehicle accessory stores must follow the Ministry’s rules. They are prohibited from applying unapproved stickers or flags on vehicles.

Along with the traffic rules, there’s good news for drivers with unpaid fines. Umm Al Quwain and Ajman are offering a 50% discount on traffic fines during Eid Al Etihad celebrations, helping residents clear their dues and start the new year fresh.
Umm Al Quwain is offering a 50% discount on fines from December 01, 2024, to January 05, 2025, covering violations before December 01, excluding serious offenses like reckless driving. Ajman’s discount is available from November 05 to December 15, 2024, with similar terms.
Other emirates haven’t announced any fine discounts yet, but residents hope similar offers will be introduced soon.
Eid Al Etihad is a time to celebrate the UAE’s remarkable journey, but safety and legal compliance are crucial. The new traffic rules and safety measures ensure everyone can enjoy the celebrations without accidents.
While vehicle decorations and parades enhance the festivities, following the rules will help avoid penalties. Drivers are encouraged to celebrate responsibly by adhering to the Ministry of Interior’s guidelines.
As the UAE celebrates Eid Al Etihad, it’s essential for everyone to adhere to the new traffic regulations and safety measures to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. While the celebrations are a time of joy, following the guidelines for vehicle decorations, passenger safety, and responsible driving is crucial to avoid penalties and accidents.
The fine discounts in Umm Al Quwain and Ajman provide an opportunity for drivers to clear outstanding fines, promoting safer roads. Let’s all celebrate responsibly, keeping safety and unity at the forefront of the festivities.
