Toyota’s GAZOO Racing team tunes it and comes in a PHEV setup only, with aggressive styling, sport-specific body elements, and GR-tuned suspensions. Depending upon the variant, the interior features high-quality fabric to microsuede. For example, the Woodland has a red-orange accent and exclusive weather-resistant mats.

New Powertrain Option: Upgraded Hybrid or Plug-in

RAV4 HEV now comes mated with the fifth-generation hybrid powertrain system developed by Toyota. This setup can produce 236 hp with an AWD unit and 226 hp with an FWD unit. The PHEV model also gets a power boost as it can produce 320 horsepower and can offer an 80-km all-electric range. Toyota has offered XSE and Woodland variants that support a DC fast charging system, charging 10-80% in 30 minutes. The PHEV variants, including SE, XSE, Woodland, and GR Sport, all have an AWD system as standard.

The automaker has also improved the towing capacity of HEV and PHEV models like XLE, SE, XSE, Limited, and Woodland, allowing these models to tow up to 1588 kg. However, the FWD and base AWD variants have a capacity of two 794 kg.

2026 RAV4 Tech Features & Connectivity

The latest version of the RAV4 SUV gets Toyota’s new vehicle software platform called Arene. It supports Toyota’s Safety Sense 4.0, the most advanced safety suite.

The top-spec variants get a head-up display, a nine-speaker JBL premium audio system, and additional connected features through cloud updates.

2026 RAV Launch Timeline

Toyota has confirmed that the RAV4 may arrive in US dealerships by the end of this year, while the prices are expected to be announced soon in the coming weeks. In the GCC region, the Japanese automobile manufacturer can launch its RAV4 HEV and PHEV after successfully launching in the US automobile market. However, there is no official confirmation, but considering the demand for Toyota cars in the UAE and other GCC regions, the arrival of the 2026 RAV4 is expected.
