Toyota is saying farewell to the fifth-generation A90 Supra with the performance-oriented "Final Edition," which includes enhancements and a significant power increase.
The Supra debuted in 1978, spanning four generations before production ceased due to emission regulations. Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda revived the iconic sports car in 2019 with the A90 model, developed alongside BMW, sharing parts with the Z4 and serving as Toyota's flagship sports car.
The Final Edition features a track-inspired design with canards, a carbon-fiber rear spoiler, and a cooling vent on the bonnet. Inside, it boasts Recaro carbon-fiber bucket seats with carbon-fiber, Alcantara, and red accent trims, setting it apart from the standard Supra.
Only 300 units of the A90 Supra Final Edition will be made, based on the 3.0-liter model, delivering approximately 435 hp, surpassing the Porsche 911 Carrera. Performance enhancements include a new exhaust catalyst, revised airflow system, extra cooling, and ECU adjustments.
To avoid oil starvation, the vehicle is equipped with a baffle plate. It also includes an Akrapovič exhaust, adjustable KW dampers, and upgraded brake pads. The Final Edition features wider Michelin PS 2 tires, enhancing its track performance.
Toyota has fine-tuned the differential and made subtle styling adjustments to the standard 3.0-liter Supra for its final production phase. While the Final Edition is expected to be the last road variant, Toyota will continue to refine the Supra through its motorsports involvement.
The Toyota Supra Final Edition marks the end of the fifth-generation A90 model, offering significant performance enhancements and unique styling. With only 300 units being produced, this track-inspired version stands as a tribute to the Supra legacy. Although it may be the final road version, Toyota's ongoing motorsports involvement ensures the Supra's influence continues, leaving a lasting impact on the brand's sports car heritage.
