Toyota's dedication to motorsport ranges from local racing to F1. At a recent event in Mooresville, North Carolina, Toyota unveiled the GR Corolla TC, positioned between the Supra GT4 and GR86 Cup racer. This model highlights Toyota's ambition and versatility in the racing world.

The GR Corolla TC racer is based on the regular production model and will compete in the TC America series. It keeps the same all-wheel-drive system and 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine as the GR-Four. While the production version delivers 300 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, Toyota hasn't shared the exact power specs for the race car, but they are expected to be similar.
The GR Garage team will add several race-specific upgrades to each car. These include 2-piston rear brakes, Alcon 6-piston front brakes, JRi dual-adjustable shocks, custom MacPherson struts from TGRNA, and improved aerodynamics. Bosch Motorsport electronics will manage power, ABS, and the drivetrain. Safety features include an OMP fiberglass seat, an FIA-approved roll cage, and an OMP electronic fire extinguisher system.

The TC America series, where the GR Corolla will compete, is set to launch in 2025, merging the previous TC and TCX classes into one more competitive field. This new format aims to enhance the racing experience by bringing together different cars for closer competition. Toyota is excited to join this new racing format. More details about the race car, including its price, will be announced soon.
