Enhanced electric power steering and optimized damper settings for better handling and ride comfort.
Added daytime running lights across most variants (except Cup Car Basic).
Introduction of a Sport Mode button for manual models and revised turn signal stalk.
The improved automatic transmission allows for higher RPM manual downshifts.
The 2.4-liter boxer engine remains the same, producing 232 hp and 250 Nm of torque, with no change in performance specs.
Subaru has revealed the updated BRZ in Japan, mirroring the changes in its twin, the Toyota GR86. Highlights include revised steering and suspension, updated daytime running lights, and a new Sport Mode for manual BRZ models.

Since its launch in 2021, the second-generation Subaru BRZ has seen several updates, including adding the EyeSight ADAS package to manual versions last year. The latest improvements focus on better handling, with revised electric power steering assist and optimized damper settings for sharper handling and enhanced ride comfort. These suspension changes apply to the Cup Car Basic, S, and R variants, while the STI Sport variant continues to feature STI-tuned dampers.

Visually, the main update is the addition of daytime running lights on all BRZ variants, except the Cup Car Basic. The interior design remains largely the same, but it now includes a revised turn signal stalk and a new Sport Mode button, which is only available on manual models. This new button enhances the Active Sound Control system's cabin presence. Additionally, the automatic transmission has been adjusted to allow for higher RPM manual downshifts.
The powertrain hasn’t changed despite rumors of new ECU settings. The 2.4-liter boxer engine will still deliver about 232 hp and 250 Nm of torque. This means the manual version will keep its 0-100 km/h time of 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 226 km/h.
The 2025 Subaru BRZ update brings enhancements to handling, styling, and features while maintaining the original powertrain. With improved steering, suspension, and the addition of daytime running lights and a new Sport Mode for manual models, the BRZ aims to deliver a sharper driving experience and updated looks, all while preserving its performance and character.
