Hyundai has delayed the launch of its new three-row electric SUV, initially set for this summer. Buyers will now have to wait until early 2025 for its dealership arrival.

Hyundai's new three-row SUV, originally called the Ioniq 7, will be launched as the Ioniq 9. This name change was reported by the Korean Car Blog.
Hyundai Motor Company Australia COO John Kett indirectly confirmed the Ioniq 9’s pricing strategy, positioning it as Hyundai's flagship SUV. The Ioniq 9 will launch around the same time as the smaller Inster electric SUV, which is priced under $40,000. However, the Ioniq 9 is expected to be the most expensive model in Hyundai's lineup.

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 will use the E-GMP EV architecture like the previous Ioniq models. While specific powertrain details are unconfirmed, it's expected to have similar setups to the Kia EV9.
Hyundai aims to introduce around twelve EV models by the end of the decade, using a next-gen platform with standardized motors and batteries.
