
Smart Mobility International, a leading distributor of new-age energy vehicles, has partnered with IM Motors, a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer backed by SAIC Motor, Alibaba Group, and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech.

The agreement with SMI will allow IM Motors to enter the GCC market. Initially, the automaker will launch its vehicles in the UAE and Saudi Arabia by the end of this year. The contract was signed at IM Motors’ first UAE showroom in Sheik Zayed Road, Dubai, between the Co-CEO of IM Brand, Mr. Liu Tao, and the CEO of SMI, Mr Moutaz Louis.
During the contract signing event, Sheikh Saif Bin Mohammed Bin Butti Al Hamed marked his presence as one of the attendees. IM Motors unveiled its flagship IM LS7, a fully electric luxury SUV featuring a smart panoramic cockpit with AI integration, advanced safety and connectivity features, and ample cabin space with premium detailing. One of the noticeable features of this luxury SUV is its rear right seat, which is designed with zero-gravity technology borrowed from aerospace engineering.

In the opening speech, Mr. Moutaz Louis said that SMI feels proud for the benign forefront in the new energy vehicle revolution race. As the exclusive distributor of IM Motors in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the brand is not just launching a new brand in the market but also contributing to shaping the future through intelligent mobility, premium performance, and a strong commitment to sustainability.
Initially, IM LS7 will be offered in the BEV version, while the extended range iterations will be introduced later. The brand will also launch the IM L7 sedan and IM LS6 SUV by the end of this year in BEV and REEV variants.

Toyota has unveiled the 2027 GR86 in Japan, featuring revised throttle and steering calibration, upgraded EyeSight safety, and new trim options. Orders begin August 28, with a public debut at Fuji Speedway on September 12.
