Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT has obtained a new performance benchmark at Yas Marina Circuit, becoming the fastest production SUV to lap the iconic Formula 1 Grand Prix layout. Driven by Ramez Azzam, the luxury sports car achieved a lap time of 2:14.046 around the 5.281 km long track. This is the first time an officially sanctioned production car has achieved the lap record at the venue, under the supervision of the Emirates Motorsport Organization (EMSO).

As part of the official lap record procedure, it was provided with run scrutineering for checking showroom specifications, a 60-minute practical session, and a 45-minute qualifying window, where the lap time had to be set.
Cayenne Turbo GT is already well known for its high-end performance. Still, with its recent track record at Yas Marina Circuit, the sports car reinforced its reputation as a luxury SUV and a reliable supercar with an average speed of 141.83 km/h. The Porsche Cayenne was given a record-setting session from 7.00 pm to 7.45 pm under ambient conditions of 27.6 degrees Celsius air temperature, 39.1 degrees Celsius track temperature, and 61.7 percent humidity, while the wind speed was 1.4 km/h.

On this notable achievement and thrilling experience of driving the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, Ramez Azzam appreciated the handling prowess of this luxury sports car. He also added that the power and sound of the engine were impressive, it was also agile and responsive in terms of braking and handling.
Porsche has provided its most powerful 4.0-liter V8 engine in the Cayenne Turbo GT, making 650 horsepower and 850 Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired with a speed Tiptronic S transmission.
The Cayenne SUV gets Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, Active Rear Wheel Steering, and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes for efficient handling and maximum performance efficiency.
