Nissan has recorded another successful year, reporting a notable 6% increase in sales across the Middle East for the fiscal year 2023 (April 2023 – March 2024). This highlights the brand's strong market presence in the region with its diverse vehicle lineup.
A major factor behind Nissan's success in the Middle East has been its SUVs and crossovers, which made up over half of the total sales. Leading the way was the iconic Nissan Patrol, which experienced a remarkable 26% increase in sales compared to FY22. The Patrol, famous for its off-road capabilities, sold nearly 20,000 units, marking a 9% increase across the region.
Beyond vehicle sales, Nissan saw significant growth in its after-sales segment. Sales of parts and accessories increased by 9% in FY23, and Nissan Genuine Motor Oil (NGMO) saw a notable 23% rise. This growth was supported by the introduction of local oil blending in Qatar, ensuring a steady supply of NGMO to customers throughout the region. This highlights that selling quality cars is not enough; after-sales service is also crucial, and Nissan has placed a strong emphasis on this aspect as well.

The X-TRAIL, Nissan’s premium urban crossover, along with the KICKS, Pathfinder, and X-TERRA, were the standout performers. The X-TRAIL achieved the highest sales growth within the SUV segment, while the Nissan KICKS saw its sales double in FY23, reflecting its rising popularity among consumers. The Pathfinder enjoyed a remarkable 41% growth, and the X-TERRA experienced a 20% sales increase during the same period.
Continued Success of the Nissan Sunny
How can we discuss Nissan's sales without mentioning Sunny? With a legacy spanning over half a century, the Nissan Sunny remains a favorite among families and young drivers in the Middle East. The Sunny continued its strong performance in FY23, selling over 20,000 units and maintaining the highest segment share.

A detailed sales breakdown revealed a 24% increase in Nissan sales in the UAE, highlighting the brand's strong appeal and customer demand. Kuwait followed closely with a 23% increase compared to the previous year, while demand remained steady in other markets such as Qatar.

Looking ahead to FY24, Nissan plans to implement The Arc, its global business strategy, aimed at driving growth across multiple regions, including the Middle East. This includes expanding the brand's presence and lineup with the regional launch of new SUV models by the end of the year.
Thierry Sabbagh, Divisional Vice President and President of Nissan and INFINITI in the Middle East and KSA, commented on the company's performance, saying, "The strong performance across our vehicle lineup in FY23 highlights Nissan's dedication to innovation and excellence.
Our notable growth, especially in the SUV and crossover segments, reflects the strength of our products and our capability to meet the varied needs of our customers in the region. We are proud of our progress and look forward to continuing to provide exceptional driving experiences and pioneering technologies that resonate with our customers."
Certainly! In FY 2023, Nissan saw a 6% sales increase in the Middle East. The SUV segment, led by the Nissan Patrol, grew by 26%, with nearly 20,000 units sold. Overall, Nissan’s performance remains strong in the region.
