Chinese EV maker NIO has entered the Middle East with the launch of its flagship EL8 SUV in the UAE, marking the brand’s regional debut.

The NIO EL8 has launched as the brand's top six-seat luxury SUV in the UAE, featuring eco-friendly design and smart technology.

The all-wheel-drive NIO EL8 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and has 850 Nm of torque. It comes with a 100 kWh swappable battery that offers up to 510 km of WLTP range, all in a stylish design.

Inside, it uses eco-friendly materials like plant-based materials and rattan suede. Notable features include a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a 12.8-inch infotainment screen, a 16.3-inch head-up display, ambient lighting, an in-car fragrance system, and a 23-speaker sound system.

The NIO EL8 comes in five colors and starts at AED 359,900. You can test drive it at Yas Mall and Mall of the Emirates.

NIO MENA's CEO, Mohammed Maktari, expressed excitement about the EL8's launch in the UAE, highlighting the brand's focus on sustainability and innovation. The company also announced that the ET5 and EC6 models will be added soon.

Additionally, the first NIO House in Abu Dhabi will open soon, serving as a venue for events, a café, and community gatherings.

NIO was founded in November 2014 and has become a top player in the premium smart electric vehicle (EV) market, serving over 598,000 users in Europe and China. In 2023, the brand welcomed more than 107,000 new users, showing its growing impact.
