The New Volvo EX30 Is Introduced In The UAE By Al-Futtaim

Volvo has long been regarded as one of the best automakers in Europe, and this status was increased when the Swedish brand was acquired by the Chinese Geely Group in the late 2000s. Volvo, a brand well-known worldwide for its incredible SUVs and station wagons, consistently produces some of the best models in its class in practically every market it enters. Few, if any, automakers are not interested in producing electric vehicles (EVs), given how passionately people are embracing EVs these days.

EV proliferation is not as high in the UAE as it is in many Western countries, but it is still present in the Middle East overall. But, given Volvo's commitment to supporting this transition, that may change in the years to come. Here's where the new Volvo EX30 could be extremely helpful in elevating the Swedish company's profile in the UAE's electric vehicle market. It is interesting to note that COP28's official e-mobility partner was the Al-Futtaim Group.

Oscar Rivoli, the Managing Director of Al-Futtaim's Trading Enterprises, stated concerning the Volvo EX30, "We are proud to announce the launch of the Volvo EX30 with Al-Futtaim Group being named COP28's Strategic E-Mobility Partner." Delivering everything customers want from a Volvo along with the lowest CO2 footprint of any Volvo car to date, the Volvo EX30 is the newest member of Volvo's entirely electric fleet. It's a small SUV with a mission-driven design and a powerful green impact. It's an excellent product that, like any Volvo, is safe and made with people and their needs in mind. It also serves to highlight the market's unwavering demand for the rapidly expanding EV segment and Al-Futtaim Group's commitment to sustainability.

Design

The 4.2-meter-long Volvo EX30 has a sleek front end and rear end, which contribute to its compact yet distinctly modern appearance. It is a small crossover electric SUV. The EX30 has a welcoming appearance thanks to its clean, smooth front fascia and multi-beam LED headlights, which also include DRLs. The well-known brand insignia is present, of course, along with a beautifully sculpted front bumper.

The EX30's side profile effectively blends aggressive lines with flowing curves, and this Volvo EV looks sporty thanks to its short overhangs, 19-inch dual-tone wheels, and two-tone paint job. The EX30's upswept window line, steadily sloping roof, and chunky rear pillars all contribute to its fashionable appearance. Of course, when the car is covered in one of the few available contrasting colors, all of these styling elements are highlighted.

The primary C-shaped taillights and the vertical light bars that are situated directly next to the rear window are two of the distinctive LED lights that are installed on the Volvo EX30's rear end. The rear bumper and roof spoiler are designed in a fairly sporty manner, and the tailgate features a sizable "Volvo" branding in the center.

Interior

The interior of the EX30 feels quite contemporary and hip, thanks in large part to minimalist design elements, which are common to most Volvo vehicles. The materials and trim used here feel reasonably plush and upscale, even though the entire cabin is made of several recycled materials. A distinctive-looking speckled design incorporated into multiple panels on the doors and dashboard is one of the other eye-catching visual elements.

The Volvo EX30's interior also includes a full-length glass roof, vertically aligned front AC vents, a touch-sensitive steering wheel with buttons, a transmission selector mounted on a stalk, and a touchscreen infotainment display in the portrait orientation. With its light-themed upholstery on the seats and door pads, the latter lets in an abundance of natural light. The well-contoured seats and frameless IRVMs and ORVMs on this EV raise its style factor.

Features

The Volvo EX30 is an excellent option for individuals who enjoy cutting-edge technology and stylish new equipment because it has many features. Several driver-safety features are among them, including 360-degree cameras, Park Pilot Assist, a Blind Spot Information System with Door Opening Alert, Pilot Assist, and Active Collision Avoidance and Mitigation Systems.

The new EX30 is equipped with numerous other niceties as well. A wireless phone charger, heated steering wheel, powered and auto-climate seats, a 12.3-inch primary digital display with Google Assistant (along with many other Google apps & features), a 1,040-watt Harmon Kardon sound system, and multicolored LED ambient lighting are a few of the most significant features.

Performance

The Volvo EX30 is offered in single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations, depending on the market. These are divided into three additional variants: Twin Motor Performance, Single Motor Extended Range, and Single Motor. As per the data provided by the Swedish car manufacturer, the new EX30 can travel up to 462 to 476 kilometers when fully charged.

The EX30's NMC batteries have a maximum rating of 69 kW. The powertrain's overall output varies from 272 to 428 horsepower, and its maximum torque output is between 343-543 newton meters. The NMC battery pack of the Volvo EX30 can be charged from 10% to 80% in 26 minutes when connected to a DC fast charger. Additionally, Volvo states that its small electric SUV should be able to reach a top speed of 180 km/h, a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 3.6 seconds (Performance variant), and an efficiency of 18 kWh/100 kilometers.

Price

In the United Arab Emirates, the base price of the new Volvo EX30 is AED 149,900. Thus, the Volvo XC40 Recharge is outbid by more than 100,000 dirhams by the EX30. Thus, you should take a test drive of the new EX30 if you're looking for an attractive, feature-rich, all-electric Volvo SUV.
