Due to a critical flaw in the fuel pump impeller, Mercedes-Benz is recalling a sizable number of its automobiles in the US. There's a chance of total power loss because of this problem. In June 2022, a recall of 79,676 Mercedes-Benz vehicles was initiated due to concerns raised about reports of irregular power delivery in specific models outside of the United States.
A six-month investigation revealed a fuel pump impeller malfunction that is the subject of the recall. When an impeller deforms beyond tolerance, it could come into contact with the fuel pump housing and create mechanical resistance.

This problem could lead to the fuel pump cutting off, which would impair the vehicle's ability to move and increase the possibility of collisions or injuries. In June 2022, reports of irregular power delivery with particular models outside of the United States brought the problem to light.
Mercedes-Benz vehicles are imported into the nation from the US. This implies that the recall may have an impact on some of the vehicles that have reached the UAE market.
Mercedes-Benz will repair the affected vehicles' fuel delivery modules at no cost to the owners to fix the issue. To make sure the problem doesn't arise in newly manufactured cars, the brand is also making changes to the fuel pump supplier's production process.

A total of 79,676 automobiles are affected by the recall, including the GLE, GLS, C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, SL, E-Class Coupe, E-Class Convertible, CLS, AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, and G-Class models. Additionally, the recall includes these vehicles that were produced between August 1, 2021, and March 31, 2023.
On impacted vehicles, dealers will swap out the fuel delivery module to fix the fuel pump impeller issue. On the other hand, dealers were informed about the recall by manufacturers on December 28, 2023, and owners will receive notification by February 13, 2024. Without charging the owners, they will swap out the fuel delivery module as soon as possible.

Before the fuel pump cuts off, owners of affected vehicles may notice symptoms like erratic engine performance or warning messages on the instrument cluster. Mercedes-Benz is taking proactive steps to guarantee the dependability and safety of the impacted cars by initiating the recall. To find out if their vehicle is covered by the most recent recall, customers can visit the Mercedes-Benz USA recall website.
