The Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo is just around the corner, and automobile manufacturers have started releasing previews of their flashy new cars that are likely to debut later this year. Toyota has already revealed the futuristic Corolla Concept, the six-wheeled Lexus van, and the luxurious Century coupe.

Mazda, on the other hand, is ready to unveil a sleek sedan concept, while Subaru is reportedly planning to showcase a pair of STI performance concepts, possibly a gas-powered and an electric model. Now, coming to Mitsubishi, the company has recently teased a new SUV concept that will be unveiled in Tokyo.
While the teaser does not reveal much about the concept, it only reveals the rear end at the edge of the image. The SUV seems to be designed for off-roading purposes with chunky-looking tires and a lot of ground clearance. There is a simple LED light bar that stretches across the rear of the vehicle, whereas the roofline dips down after the rear wheel.
Mitsubishi has presented the concept as ‘electrified,’ leaving automotive enthusiasts guessing whether the concept is fully electric or has a hybrid powertrain. The automaker states that electrification and all-wheel control technologies make the concept model capable of tackling any kind of terrain, while also featuring ample space inside the cabin with a luxurious in-car sleeping environment.
For more information about the upcoming Mitsubishi concept unveiling, we have to wait for another couple of weeks. However, the brand has recently shown it has renewed its focus on developing off-road vehicles or strengthening its position in the off-road SUV segment. In its global product portfolio, the brand recently debuted the Trail Edition to expand the 2025 Outlander lineup.
Mitsubishi has also confirmed it is working on a serious off-road-oriented Outlander that will officially launch somewhere in 2025 and a new boxy SUV that will feature a body-on-frame platform.
