MG has revealed Cyber X, an all-electric concept SUV with a boxy profile, at the Shanghai Auto Show in China. The Cyber X is the second model in MG’s Cyber series; it was previously unveiled alongside the MG Cyberster in November 2023.

This concept electric SUV features a boxy body design and a matte-black exterior, showcasing the brand’s distinctive approach to designing modern vehicles. One of the notable design elements is the pop-up headlights, which reflect when in use and retract into the body when turned off.

MG Cyber X was designed by Jozef Kaban, a Slovak automotive design veteran who has worked at globally renowned automakers like Volkswagen, BMW, and Rolls-Royce before joining SAIC in April 2024.

The SUV features smoked black A- and B-pillars to offer a floating roof effect when viewed from the side. The Cyber X also has silver and black two-tone, five-spoke alloy wheels that blend into its unique design profile. According to available sources, the automaker has designed its cockpit and connectivity features in collaboration with Oppo, a leading Chinese smartphone brand.

MG has not specified the technical specifications or pricing of this boxy SUV. However, the automaker has hinted that the EV has a heavy tech influence inside the cabin.

MG plans to introduce eight new electric vehicle (EV) models over the next two years, including full-size SUVs, sedans, and sports cars. The automaker recently confirmed that it will launch two more models, including a 5-seater SUV and a compact electric sedan.
