For the 2026 model year, Lexus is making its RX crossover even more appealing to high-net-worth individuals by offering thoughtful enhancements. One of the major updates for 2026 is the availability of the Appearance Package, inspired by the 2025 Black Line Special Edition. It's limited to F SPORT Handling and F SPORT Performance grades, elevating the RX on-road presence with bold details like black interior accents, 21-inch split-five-spoke wheels in black, and bright orange brake calipers. Inside the cabin is a black interior with gray stitching that rounds out for a sporty environment.

Lexus has also introduced the Premium grade for the RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid, offering customers flexibility between luxury appointments and efficiency-focused performance.

Lexus RX Is Built on the GA-K Platform

The RX continues to be underpinned by the GA-K platform, which provides the low center of gravity, improved rigidity, and refined ride quality. Its advanced high-strength steels and strategic bracing at key points add to the vehicle's durability and confidence in drive quality. As a result, the luxury crossover feels safe to control on tight turns and remain comfortable on long journeys. Its 192.5-inch length, 112.2-inch wheelbase, and multi-link rear suspension maintain generous cabin and cargo space with athletic proportions.

The exterior looks clean and athletic with a signature spindle body design. It gets a seamless grille, flush molding, and aerodynamic body lines. There are wraparound taillamps for distinctive road presence as well as ten different exterior colors and six interior color themes available to customize the car's look based on customer preferences.

Powertrain & Variants

Lexus has tailored its RX crossover for a broad range of drivers. For instance, the Lexus RX 350 (FWD/AWD) is equipped with a 275-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission, delivering smooth acceleration and confident driving handling. The AWD models adjust torque distribution seamlessly for grip and stability. On the other hand, the RX 350h Hybrid (AWD) comes mated with a 246-horsepower hybrid powertrain setup for maximum efficiency and everyday usability, supported by Lexus' E-Four AWD system for enhanced control.

The RX 450h+ Plug-in Hybrid (AWD) is going to be the new addition in the RX lineup, providing customers a new flexible option with a standard dual-voltage charging cable, which makes it capable of delivering 38 miles of pure electric range and an 85 MPGe rating. The top-end RX 500h F SPORT Performance (AWD) trim is also available as the most dynamic RX, making 366 horsepower and 406 lb-ft torque with DIRECT4 AWD and Dynamic Rear Steering for exceptional control and agility.

The Lexus LX lineup benefits from MacPherson front struts and multi-link rear suspension that is customized for better comfort and stability. It also gets adaptive variable suspension (AVS) in F SPORT trims, continuously adjusting damping based on driving and road conditions. In contrast, the six-piston caliper brakes and advanced AWD system offer strong and efficient braking power even at high speeds.

Interior & Cabin Space

The RX crossover continues to blend Lexus' philosophy of omotenashi, anticipating the needs of every passenger and making it comfortable and convenient for all kinds of occupants. The cabin gets a driver-focused cockpit with a 12.3-inch MID, a 14-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, and up to six USB-C ports for connectivity. Interior also houses 64 colors, ambient lighting, and 14 themes to set the mood depending upon driving preferences, while optional Mark Levinson 24-speaker audio creates an audiophile-level sound experience.

Rear passengers have ample legroom and available power folding and heated seats with thoughtful storage space. The brand's minimalist design approach ensures the interior space remains modern and appealing to new generation car buyers.

Safety Features

In terms of safety, the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 comes standard in the 2026 Lexus RX, which includes advanced safety features like pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, dynamic radar cruise control with curve speed management, lane tracing assist, lane departure alert, road sign assist, and proactive driving assist. Optional features include traffic jam assist, advanced park with remote park, and a head-up display for a more comfortable drive and parking in city traffic.
