Ford is gearing up to launch the updated version of the Equator SUV, signaling an evolution in its global lineup. However, leaked images of the SUV have surfaced online ahead of the official global debut.
The SUV sits above the Ford Everest (known as Endeavour) and reflects Ford's commitment to excellence in the competitive SUV market. It's meticulously designed and will be produced with precision at the JMC-Ford joint venture plant in China.
The updated Equator presents a refined front design with sleek LED headlights and a smaller grille for a more appealing look. Its rear is enhanced by updated LED taillights and a redesigned bumper. While its side profile remains largely unchanged, new alloy wheel designs have been introduced.

Interior specifics have not been disclosed, but there's speculation that the Equator's refresh might include features akin to the 27-inch infotainment panel seen in the Ford Evos crossover.
In the updated Equator, a notable change lies in its powertrain, featuring a plug-in hybrid setup combining a 150-hp, 1.5-liter petrol engine with an 82hp electric motor, resulting in a combined output of approximately 218hp. The battery is supplied by CATL, with an alternative offering being a 1.5-liter Ecoboost petrol engine generating around 170 hp and 260 Nm of torque.
The leaked images of the upcoming Ford Equator SUV hint at a refined design, with sleek LED lighting and a refreshed exterior. With speculations about interior features and significant updates in its powertrain, the Equator appears poised to elevate Ford's presence in the competitive SUV market.
