JLR rebranded last year, setting up unique identities for Range Rover, Defender, and Discovery.
Models like the Octa are set to redefine the Defender brand, marking a big change for Land Rover.
Land Rover is ready to unveil its flagship Defender Octa, featuring a powerful electrified twin-turbocharged V-8 engine and upgraded suspension for superior off-road performance, enhancing the 4x4 lineup.
The Defender Octa features 6D Dynamics hydraulic interlinked air suspension for a comfortable and smooth ride. This suspension system enhances stability across various driving conditions. Furthermore, it comes equipped with Brembo brakes to provide ample stopping power and road control.
JLR has confirmed that the upcoming Defender model will feature a twin-turbocharged V8 engine, likely the BMW-sourced 4.4-liter engine used in Range Rover models, generating approximately 618 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. The Octa is expected to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.

Setting itself apart from other variants, the Defender Octa showcases diamond-inspired badges both inside and out. The exterior badge displays a glossy-black diamond on a sandblasted and machined titanium disc, while inside, a red illuminated diamond badge embellishes the steering wheel's base.
Land Rover intends to reveal the Defender Octa by the year's end and encourages prospective buyers to reach out to their Defender retailer for early access. Nearly a year ago, JLR underwent a rebranding, introducing a new badge and transitioning its name. This indicates a significant move towards establishing distinct brands for Range Rover, Defender, and Discovery, with models like the Octa poised to redefine the Defender brand.
Land Rover is poised to unveil the highly anticipated Defender Octa by the end of the year, inviting interested buyers to connect with their Defender retailer for early access. The rebranding undertaken by JLR nearly a year ago, which included a new badge and name transition, signifies a strategic shift towards establishing distinct identities for Range Rover, Defender, and Discovery.
