Kia has officially launched its first pickup truck, the Kia Tasman, at the Jeddah International Motor Show in Saudi Arabia.

The Kia pickup truck is available in Baseline, X-Line, and X-Pro Double Cab models to meet different customer needs. Ho Sung Song, President and CEO of Kia, stated that this first-ever pickup truck was designed from scratch to meet the rising demand for lifestyle-oriented trucks with advanced features.

The Kia Tasman has a clean and rugged exterior design, avoiding the bulky look common in many pickups. It features the classic Kia Tiger Face with a bold grille and signature headlights. The strong shape includes an upright windshield and stylish angled elements, along with unique fender designs that blend function and aesthetics.
At the back, it has small C-shaped tail lights, a logo stamped on the tailgate, and practical features like a high-mounted stop lamp and bed steps.
The Kia Tasman is available in nine colors: Clear White, Snow Pearl White, Steel Gray, Interstellar Gray, Cityscape Green, Runway Red, Aurora Black Pearl, and two new colors, Tan Beige and Denim Blue.

The interior of the Kia Tasman focuses on simplicity and practicality with a rugged design. Key features include:
Kia provides two engine options for the Tasman. The first is a 2.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine that produces 281 PS and 421 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The second option is a 2.2-liter diesel engine that generates 210 PS and 441 Nm of torque, available with either an 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.

The Kia Tasman is built on a sturdy body-on-frame chassis and has double-wishbone front suspension and a rigid rear axle with leaf springs. The higher-end X-Line and X-Pro trims come with four-wheel drive as standard, while the base model offers both rear-wheel drive and 4WD options. The 4WD version includes four off-road modes: Desert/Sand, Mud, Snow, and Rock.
The Kia Tasman also features a rear Electronic Locking Differential (e-LD) and an X-Trek mode to enhance its off-road abilities. It includes Kia's Ground View Monitor for better visibility.
The Kia Tasman comes with several advanced safety features like lane-keeping assist, blind spot collision warning, remote parking assist, and Highway Driving Assist 2.
In summary, the Kia Tasman is a strong addition to the pickup truck market, blending modern design with advanced technology for both work and play.
Kia Tasman represents a significant milestone for Kia as it enters the pickup truck market. With its modern design, practical features, and advanced technology, the Tasman is tailored to meet the needs of both work and leisure. Offering a variety of trims and powertrain options, it aims to appeal to a diverse customer base while emphasizing safety and off-road capabilities. This launch showcases Kia's commitment to innovation and responsiveness to consumer preferences in the growing pickup segment.
