Kia has officially launched the Kia EV5, a fully electric mid-sized SUV (C-SUV) specifically designed to meet the everyday driving requirements of modern families and active lifestyles. It is built on Hyundai Motor Group's dedicated electric vehicle architecture, known as the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which offers a unique blend of expressive design, versatile usability, and advanced electric powertrain setup.

With the launch of the Kia EV5, the South Korean automobile manufacturer has expanded its EV lineup, which currently includes the EV3, EV4, EV6, and EV9. This C-SUV segment model is suitable for both family comfort and outdoor adventure.
On the launch of the Kia EV5, Ho Sung Song, President and CEO of Kia, stated that the EV5 represents a significant step in the company's shift toward electrified mobility. The model is developed not only to expand Kia's electric lineup but also to make EV ownership more practical and appealing to a broader range of customers worldwide.
With the Kia EV5, the automaker aims to strengthen its position in key global markets, including Korea, Europe, and North America, while also offering a solid and sustainable mobility option in other global markets, such as the UAE.
The EV5 has been designed as part of Kia's Opposites United design philosophy, which presents strength, confidence, and a futuristic character. In the front, it gets a wide bonnet, rugged bumpers, and the brand's reimagined digital tiger face profile with Star Map DRLs.

The side profile appears boxy yet dynamic, featuring sculpted wheel arches, strong shoulder lines, and a rear-shifted D-pillar for enhanced visibility and cargo space. On the rear, it features clean lines and a vertical tail lamp setup for a more authentic SUV profile.
Kia's newest electric car measures 4,610 mm in length and 2,750 mm in wheelbase, promising to strike a balance between agility and spacious practicality, making it ideal for family use.

Inside the cabin, the design is minimalist, featuring a range of practical elements, including a panoramic wide display that comprises a 12.3-inch driver cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and a 5-inch climate control panel, all integrated into a single unit. The vehicle features flexible storage, including a wide center console with a sliding tray for both front and rear access, as well as foldable rear seat-back tables.

The second-row seat folds almost completely flat, creating a lounge-like extension of the luggage area, making it perfect for camping or long road trips. Kia has also focused on maximizing passenger comfort with three-zone climate control, ergonomic reclining seats with massage function, and ambient lighting.
For connectivity features, there is Kia's next-generation Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), which provides smart connectivity through over-the-air updates, Digital Key 2.0, fingerprint recognition, Kia Connect Store for on-demand features, AI Assist, and a Harman Kardon premium audio system.
The Kia EV5 is available with two NCM battery options: 60.3kWh and 81.4kWh, delivering a WLTP-estimated range of up to 530 km. The battery pack can be charged to 10-80% in 30 minutes using a DC fast charger. Additionally, the AWD setup has been configured with regenerative braking and i-Pedal 3.0 for intuitive one-pedal driving.

There are also vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-grid functions, allowing Kia EV5 owners to power camping gear, small appliances, and even feed energy back into the grid. While the North American units have a 1,800 lbs towing capacity, the European and South Korean spec models have a towing capacity of up to 1,200 kg.
The Kia EV5 features several safety measures and is designed and engineered to meet European NCAP 5-Star and KNCAP Grade 1 safety standards. Some of the major safety features offered in the EV5 include Highway Driving Assist 2 with lane centering and assisted lane changes, Remote Start Parking Assist 2 for fully automated parking, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist.
The latest Kia EV also features seven airbags and a reinforced body design, making it a safe and reliable vehicle for customers.
