The recall notice pertains to the facelifted versions of the Kia Sorento SUV, which are designated as 2024 Model Year vehicles, despite being listed as 2023 models in the notice. Deliveries of these vehicles began recently, with a total of 1288 units affected by the recall.
Under Australian Design Rule 81/02, which regulates fuel consumption labeling for light vehicles, the affected vehicles fail to meet regulatory requirements. Despite this, Kia has assured customers that the issue poses no safety risk to occupants or drivers.
