Kia has offered a glimpse of the EV3, a smaller version of the EV5 electric car, ahead of its global launch in May. The debut is set for May 23, with sales starting overseas in the third quarter of 2024. However, details about its release in the UAE are not yet available.
The Kia EV3 has dimensions similar to the Seltos and utilizes a scaled-down version of the Kia-Hyundai electric platform with a 400-volt architecture for cost efficiency. However, its charging speed will be slower compared to the EV9 and EV6, which are based on 800-volt units.

The production version of the EV3 shares design elements with its concept unveiled in South Korea last year and draws inspiration from the flagship EV9 SUV. Kia describes the EV3 as a feature-rich electric SUV with innovative technology and impressive performance.
While the EV3's exterior closely mirrors the concept, significant changes are apparent inside the cabin. The production model will feature a conventional flat-bottom steering wheel design instead of the concept's oval shape. Additionally, physical buttons, pedals, door panels, and traditional air vents will be present on the dashboard, unlike the concept version.

Following the standard EV3 range debut, Kia plans to introduce a G3 variant, in line with its strategy of offering high-performance options across its new electric-car lineup.
