In response to sluggish EV sales, Jaguar Land Rover is revamping its electrification plan, emphasizing plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) alongside battery electric vehicles (BEVs). The decision comes after observing a notable 68 percent increase in PHEV sales in Europe last year, suggesting a growing demand for hybrid options amid the stagnation of EV growth.

Adrian Mardell, JLR's CEO, highlighted the unexpected surge in PHEV demand and stressed the importance of broadening their availability to meet customer preferences.
Despite scaling back its EV launches, JLR is preparing to reveal its inaugural all-electric SUV, the Range Rover Electric, followed by an electric Range Rover Sport. These models will utilize the Modular Longitudinal Architecture platform. Additionally, JLR plans to introduce two smaller electric models, potentially succeeding the Velar and Evoque.

By 2025, Jaguar aims to transition into an all-electric brand, starting with introducing a four-door GT to rival the Porsche Taycan, followed by another EV currently in development. As part of JLR's target to achieve 60 percent EV sales by 2030, all existing internal combustion engine models will be phased out.
Jaguar Land Rover is adapting its electrification strategy in response to sluggish global electric vehicle sales. With a focus on plug-in hybrids alongside battery electric vehicles, the company aims to meet customer demand while transitioning towards becoming an all-electric brand by 2025. This strategic shift reflects JLR's commitment to sustainability and innovation in the automotive industry.
