Jetour has unveiled its newest SUV, the Jetour T7, in China. This large, luxurious off-road SUV features a powerful 1,572hp quad-motor electric powertrain. Initially previewed as the Jetour Shanhai T7, it has been introduced in China as the Jetour Zongheng G700. However, it will likely retain the Jetour T7 name for international markets like the UAE.
Jetour, part of the Chery Group, has quickly risen in global markets, especially in the UAE and GCC. The UAE debut of the Jetour T2 in January 2024 was a game-changer, making it one of the top-selling Chinese SUVs in the region.
In April 2024, Jetour unveiled the updated T2 and the new T1 at a special event in China. The brand also showcased the T5 concept, a rugged off-road SUV, and teased the T7.
At the April 2024 event, Jetour teased the T7 with a digital presentation, showcasing features like a powerful electric powertrain, advanced driver assistance, tank turn functionality, and the ability to travel on water. On January 20, 2025, Jetour unveiled a video highlighting the T7's impressive capabilities.
The video showed the SUV doing a tank turn and moving on water at speeds of up to 8.5 km/h, outpacing its rival, the BYD Yangwang U8. On January 22, 2025, Jetour officially launched the T7 under its new luxury sub-brand in China, Zongheng.
The Jetour T7 showcases a bold, boxy design reminiscent of the Jetour T2, particularly at the front. Its large size stands out, highlighted by muscular wheel arches, rugged cladding, and massive off-road tires.
Inside, the SUV is packed with technology, featuring a large touchscreen infotainment system on the front dashboard and a full-width screen at the back for the instrument display. It offers seating for six in complete luxury.
Both versions are based on Chery’s advanced 800V platform, allowing for fast charging. The Jetour T7 is also equipped with 6C fast charging technology, promising a charge time from 20% to 80% in just six minutes. However, the details of the necessary charging infrastructure are still unknown.
The Jetour T7 is not only about power; it’s built for tough off-road environments. Its four motors can individually drive each wheel, allowing it to power the wheels with the most grip. With air suspension, the SUV's ground clearance can be adjusted from 150mm to an impressive 350mm, enhancing its off-road performance.
As mentioned before, the Jetour Shanhai T7 from last year has now been launched as the Jetour Zongheng G700. Zongheng is a new luxury off-road SUV sub-brand from Jetour, specifically for the Chinese market.
On January 22, 2025, Jetour introduced three new models under the Zongheng brand:
With Jetour’s increasing success in the UAE, especially with the T1 and T2, it’s highly likely the T7 will soon be available in the region. The UAE market has a high demand for luxury SUVs, making the T7 a great match. While its arrival could be in 2025 or 2026, anticipation for Jetour’s most advanced SUV could start to grow soon.
Jetour T7 represents a bold leap forward in off-road luxury SUVs, combining cutting-edge technology, impressive powertrains, and innovative features like water-driving capabilities. With its rugged design, powerful performance, and advanced charging and suspension systems, it is poised to become a game-changer in the automotive industry.
As Jetour expands its presence in the UAE and other global markets, the T7 is set to make a significant impact, meeting the growing demand for luxury off-road vehicles. The future looks exciting for Jetour as it continues to redefine the SUV experience.
