Pre-orders will begin soon with deliveries expected from August.
The Actyon aims to strengthen KG Mobility's SUV lineup.
It shares similarities with the Torres SUV in design and features.
Available with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and multiple drivetrain options.
SsangYong, now owned by the KG Group since 2022, is introducing new models to its range. The latest is the coupe-styled 2025 KGM SsangYong Actyon, recently revealed in South Korea.
The BMW X6 is often seen as the pioneer of the coupe SUV, but the original SsangYong Actyon actually came out three years earlier. It features a distinctive sloping rear design reminiscent of traditional two-door coupes.
The new Actyon draws design inspiration from the upcoming Torres SUV. It shares front-end features like light clusters but stands out with body-colored wheel arch claddings, an LED-patterned grille, and a modern light-bar design. This model is crucial for SsangYong's strategy under new ownership to broaden its range and compete with both rising Chinese automakers and established Korean brands.
KG Mobility has not yet disclosed detailed specifics about the new Actyon, such as interior images or powertrain options. However, regulatory certifications suggest similarities with the Torres model. The Torres features a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine generating approximately 280 Nm of torque and 125 kW of power. This engine pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission and is available in both all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive setups.
The Actyon will launch in South Korea with pre-orders starting at the same time. KG Mobility plans to make the SUV available as soon as August, aiming for a quick release to meet market demands and customer expectations.
Actyon's upcoming debut in South Korea marks a strategic move by KG Mobility to expand its presence in the SUV market swiftly. With pre-orders starting soon and availability set for August, the company aims to meet high consumer demand efficiently.
