Since its introduction in 2008, the Freed has been a significant model in Honda's Japanese range. Now in its third generation, it shares the same chassis as popular models such as the HR-V, Jazz, and City.

The new Freed boasts a sharper, more angular design reminiscent of the larger StepWGN, enhancing interior roominess and contemporary appeal. Its shorter hood design further optimizes interior space.
Though details are undisclosed, buyers have the option of two design packages: the Air, known for its minimalist exterior, and the Crosstar, which boasts a rugged look with distinct front-end styling, added body cladding, increased ground clearance, and unique wheels.

The MPV's revamped interior focuses on creating a spacious environment. With a pushed-back dashboard, it maximizes cabin space. Practicality is enhanced with well-placed physical controls, ample storage compartments, and a large central screen that combines familiarity with modernity. Offering both six and five-seater configurations, its center aisle facilitates easy movement.

The third-generation Freed is anticipated to be larger than its predecessor, providing expanded dimensions. While slightly smaller than the BR-V, its design and layout are optimized to maximize both passenger and cargo space.
Honda offers the new Freed in both petrol-hybrid and petrol versions. Although detailed powertrain specifications are not disclosed, the base model will include a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a CVT gearbox. Another variant will feature Honda's e: HEV hybrid technology, which combines a 1.5-liter petrol engine with two electric motors.

Details regarding the pricing and specifications of the new Freed Crosstar and Freed Air are anticipated to be revealed in June 2024, closer to their market release in Japan.

The introduction of the new Freed MPV marks a significant step for Honda, offering enhanced spaciousness, modern design, and versatile options for consumers. With its revamped interior, advanced technology, and fuel-efficient powertrain choices, the third-generation Freed is poised to make a strong impact in the Japanese market.
