Ferrari has unveiled the production-ready chassis and components of its new electric car at the Capital Markets Day 2025. It's going to be the first full electric production-ready model in the history of Prancing Horse, a marketing significant milestone in the brand’s multi-energy strategy comprising internal combustion engine, HEV, PHEV, and now fully electric drive.

Ferrari’s new Elettrica platform combines state-of-the-art technology that has been specifically designed and developed for superlative performance and extraordinary driving pleasure, making it different from other Ferrari models. Following the marque’s engineering and artisanal traditions, every key component of this car has been developed and manufactured by the brand’s in-house team.

The brand’s upcoming electric supercar is considered the culmination of a long journey of technological research into electrification that started with the first hybrid solutions borrowed from a 2009 Formula 1 car. From the 599 HY-KERS prototype of 2010 to 2013 LaFerrari del 2013, and SF90 Stradale - the Maranello-based marque’s first plug-in hybrid and the flagship 296 GTB to 849 Testarossa showcased recently, Ferrari underscored that it has developed know-how of producing a performance-focused electric car that also blends the company’s years of legacy.

As per the industry sources, Ferrari will reveal the first electric model once it is technologically available and can ensure superlative performance along with an authentic driving experience. This flagship project is now in the final stage to go into production and has already witnessed over 60 patented proprietary technological solutions. The automaker has developed both chassis and bodyshell with around 75% recycled aluminum, ensuring that about 6.7 tons of CO2 will be emitted for every vehicle manufactured.

The architecture presented has short overhangs, an advanced driving position close to the front axle, and a battery integrated completely into the floorpan. The models have been installed between front and rear axles, and out of these, about 85% have been concentrated in the lowest possible position to lower the center of gravity and maintain superior driving dynamics. Importantly, the Ferrari Elettrica benefits from a center of gravity 80 mm lower than that of other ICE models produced by the brand.

Ferrari has also introduced the first separate subframe in its history for the rear profile and has designed it to reduce noise and vibration in the cabin. There is also a third generation of 48V active suspension system, which was originally introduced on the Purosangue and evolved for the F80.

Ferrari’s first all-electric is equipped with two electric axles that are designed and produced entirely in-house, and each comes mated with a pair of synchronous permanent magnet engines and Halbach array rotors borrowed from F1 technology. While the front axle has a power density of 3.23kW/kg and efficiency of 93% at peak power, the rear axle gets a power density of 4.8kW/kg with the same peak efficiency. With this combination, the electric supercar by Ferrari will be capable of delivering up to 300kW. Moreover, the battery has been designed and assembled in Maranello and has an energy density of about 195Wh/kg, which is considered the highest for any electric car.

In terms of performance, Ferrari’s upcoming plug-in hybrid supercar is capable of accelerating 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 310 km/h, and delivering 530 km of driving range.
