At the 79th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Tata Motors Ltd, the Chairman highlighted the company's strategic initiatives, emphasizing Jaguar Land Rover's (JLR) commitment to strengthening its status as a premium luxury Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). The focus will be on boosting customer satisfaction and investing significantly in innovative products and technologies.
Jaguar Land Rover is set to launch an electric model globally, which will later arrive in India. This model differs from the Freelander EV, which is set to debut in China through a collaboration with Chery.
"Over the next three years, JLR will roll out an exciting lineup of new products, starting with the first electric Range Rover later this year. Following this, several more electric vehicles, including the all-electric Jaguar, will be introduced."
Land Rover is set to launch its first fully electric Range Rover in 2024. This new model is built on the Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA) platform, specifically designed for electric powertrains. The electric Range Rover will offer the brand's signature luxury, refinement, and off-road capability, now enhanced with near-silent, fully electric propulsion.
Expected to have electric motors at both front and rear axles, offering a range of about 480 km and a power output of at least 600 horsepower.
Retains the classic Range Rover look with some distinctive touches like a closed upper grille and new wheel designs.
