Global Launch

Key Highlights

  • JLR saw a 7.4% increase in FY24, selling over 1.38 million units.

  • Revenues reached ₹437.9 billion, with a net profit of ₹31.8 billion.

  • JLR is prioritizing electric vehicles, starting with the launch of the electric Range Rover in 2024.

  • Emphasis on supply chain resilience and integration of AI in operations.

  • Proposal for demerger into separate entities for Commercial Vehicles, Passenger Vehicles, and JLR.

At the 79th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Tata Motors Ltd, the Chairman highlighted the company's strategic initiatives, emphasizing Jaguar Land Rover's (JLR) commitment to strengthening its status as a premium luxury Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). The focus will be on boosting customer satisfaction and investing significantly in innovative products and technologies.

Jaguar Land Rover is set to launch an electric model globally, which will later arrive in India. This model differs from the Freelander EV, which is set to debut in China through a collaboration with Chery.

Tata Motors Chairman confirmed the JLR EV launch

"Over the next three years, JLR will roll out an exciting lineup of new products, starting with the first electric Range Rover later this year. Following this, several more electric vehicles, including the all-electric Jaguar, will be introduced."

Land Rover is set to launch its first fully electric Range Rover in 2024. This new model is built on the Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA) platform, specifically designed for electric powertrains. The electric Range Rover will offer the brand's signature luxury, refinement, and off-road capability, now enhanced with near-silent, fully electric propulsion.

Key Features of the Electric Range Rover:

  • Expected to have electric motors at both front and rear axles, offering a range of about 480 km and a power output of at least 600 horsepower.

  • Retains the classic Range Rover look with some distinctive touches like a closed upper grille and new wheel designs.

  • The luxurious interior remains mostly unchanged but could see updates in colors and infotainment systems.

  • Tested extensively in extreme conditions like -40°C in the Arctic and +50°C in the Middle East to ensure durability and top performance in any environment.

Land Rover is set to launch another electric vehicle by late 2024, built on the MLA platform. By 2026, they aim to introduce two smaller electric SUVs, possibly replacing the Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Velar models.

Verdict

Land Rover's upcoming electric vehicle lineup is poised for significant expansion, starting with the electric Range Rover in late 2024. With plans to introduce two smaller electric SUVs by 2026, the brand aims to strengthen its commitment to sustainable mobility while expanding its offering of luxury electric vehicles.
