Chery Tiggo 9 Gets A Fresh Redesign In China—UAE Launch Still Uncertain

The 2025 Chery Tiggo 9 has been updated with a new design, debuting in China. A plug-in hybrid version, the Tiggo 9 C-DM, has also been added, strengthening Chery's electric lineup and its position as a top SUV.

The updated Chery Tiggo 9 keeps its iconic look but now has a bolder appearance with a larger waterfall-style grille. Key design features include sleek wheels, hidden door handles, bold bumpers, a floating roof, eye-catching headlights, and a single tail light cluster. The Tiggo 9 C-DM adds two new green color options.

The Chery Tiggo 9’s interior keeps the refined design of the previous model. It features a 24.6-inch curved display, combining a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The cabin also includes 256-color ambient lighting, Nappa leather seats, an eight-speaker Sony sound system, dual-zone climate control, and advanced driver assistance features.

The new Chery Tiggo 9 comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine delivering 261 PS and 400 Nm of torque. The front-wheel-drive version has a 7-speed DCT, while the all-wheel-drive variant uses an 8-speed automatic from Aisin. The FWD model goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, while the AWD version takes 8.5 seconds.

The Tiggo 9 C-DM plug-in hybrid features a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 156 PS and 220 Nm, paired with a front electric motor generating 224 PS and 390 Nm. Together, they provide 381 PS and 610 Nm, with 0-100 km/h in 8.8 seconds. It has a 19.43 kWh battery offering an electric range of 106 km (WLTC 82 km).

The 2025 Chery Tiggo 9's battery supports up to 41 kW DC charging, taking 25 minutes to charge from 30-80%, and can be fully charged with AC in 3.5 hours. It includes a V2L system that delivers 6.6 kW for powering devices and comes with a 3DHT transmission along with six driving modes.

Prices in China start at CNY 152,900 (around AED 80,019) and go up to CNY 203,900 (around AED 106,710).
