The new BMW M5 features a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine paired with a robust electric motor integrated into its eight-speed automatic transmission, akin to the BMW XM SUV. This setup produces a combined system output of approximately 727 hp and 1001 Nm of torque, delivered to all four wheels through BMW's rear-biased xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
Despite its weight of around 2.4 tonnes, the new BMW M5 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. It is equipped with an 18.6 kWh battery, providing an electric range of about 67-69 km and supporting up to 7.4 kW AC charging. In electric mode, it can reach speeds of up to 140 km/h.
The new BMW M5 is equipped with a host of advanced amenities, including a state-of-the-art Curved Display that merges the infotainment system and instrument cluster into one continuous screen. It also boasts a flat-bottomed M leather steering wheel with illuminated M buttons for quick access to performance settings.
The luxury sedan features M multifunction seats with electric adjustments, a head-up display, a four-zone automatic climate control system, and a Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System for a concert-like audio experience. Additionally, the M5 offers a wireless charging tray for convenient device charging.
Exterior enhancements include M light alloy wheels, with 21-inch wheels in the rear and 20-inch wheels in the front, paired with high-quality tires to match its exceptional performance. In the UK, the new-generation M5 is expected to start at around £110,500 (approximately AED 552,500), although the launch details for the UAE have not yet been confirmed.
