Key highlights

  • Expect a boost in horsepower, particularly in the Competition xDrive variant, rumored to reach 523 hp (a 20 hp increase).

  • Improved Handling: Potential tweaks to suspension and steering for even sharper dynamics, building on the M4's renowned responsiveness.

BMW has unveiled the 2025 M4, showcasing increased power and a host of new features. The latest M4 comes in both coupe and convertible body styles, and the 3L powertrain offers three different levels of tuning based on the trim.

Powertrain & Gearbox

The new BMW M4 lineup is equipped with a 3.0-liter inline-6 twin-scroll turbocharged petrol engine. Depending on the variant, it comes paired with either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission.

While rear-wheel drive is the standard configuration for power distribution, the highest trim level is equipped with an all-wheel-drive system to optimize performance.

The electronic speed limit for all trims is set at 250 km/h, but with the optional M Driver’s package, the convertible can be raised to 280 km/h, and the coupe to 290 km/h from the factory.

Despite a 20hp boost in the top-spec xDrive variant, there are no changes to the top speed or acceleration time compared to the pre-facelift model.

The AI assistance for voice commands has been improved to efficiently manage various car features, encompassing functions such as climate control and seat heating.
