Aston Martin's 2025 Vantage GT3 Joins The 24 Hours Of Nurburgring

Aston Martin and the Nurburgring have a long history, with the British brand earning numerous accolades since the 1950s. Debuting globally in 2012, the Aston Martin Vantage secured its first World Endurance Championship (WEC) trophy and has since claimed 11 more world championship titles and multiple victories in various racing series. Overall, the Aston Martin Vantage boasts 52 class wins.

To replace the 2019-introduced Vantage GTE and GT3 models, Aston Martin has unveiled the all-new 2025 Aston Martin GT3. In June 2024, Aston Martin will compete with its new GT3 in three prestigious races: the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, 24 Hours of Le Mans, and 24 Hours of Spa. At the Nurburgring 24 Hours, three new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 cars will compete in the SP9 PRO, PRO-AM, and AM classes.

The event was organized by ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club) and Ravenol, a German oil company specializing in automotive products. One of the drivers for the 2025 Aston Martin GT3 at the Nurburgring 24 Hours was renowned Nordschleife specialist and winner David Pittard. Joining him were two-time FIA World Endurance GT champion Nicki Thiim from Denmark, Norwegian racer Christian Krognes, and Polish driver Kuba Giermaziak.

A previous-generation Vantage GT3 from the PROsport Racing team also competed in the series, participating in the SP9 PRO-AM class. For the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, Aston Martin partnered with Germany’s Walkenhorst Motorsport team, which had won the 2018 24 Hours of Spa and the 2023 Asian Le Mans Series. This partnership made Walkenhorst a credible collaborator for Aston Martin's debut with the all-new GT3. Altogether, three partner teams participated across three classes in this year's 24 Hours of Nurburgring.

Additionally, two Aston Martin GT4s will compete in the SP8T and SP10 classes, operated by Dörr Motorsport. In 2022, the Vantage GT4 and Dörr Motorsport achieved a one-two victory in the SP8T class, with a PROsport Vantage GT4 securing second place in the SP10 class. The 2025 Aston Martin Vantage GT3's debut follows closely on the heels of the introduction of the all-new road-going Aston Martin Vantage.

The latest Vantage GT3 is an evolution of the recently retired Vantage GTE and older Vantage GT3 models. It shares some mechanical architecture with the all-new Aston Martin Vantage road car, including a lightweight bonded aluminum chassis and a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with similar internals.

As a full-fledged racing car, the 2025 Vantage GT3 features extensive modifications, such as a comprehensive aerodynamic package, modern electronics, and fully revised suspension. Built to meet stringent FIA GT3 and LMGT3 class regulations, 25 examples of this new GT racer have already participated in over ten GT series races.
