Nissan has confirmed that its all-new, sixth-generation Micra will return to the B-segment in 2025, but this time as a fully connected, pure EV. With zero emissions and an assertive personality, the Nissan Micra EV will position itself as a more premium hatchback. It is designed at Nissan’s Design Europe in London and boasts a refreshed exterior styling with a more premium finish and a ton of attitude with SUV-line design.

The all-new Micra will come mated with 18-inch alloy wheels in three different options: active wheel covers, Iconic, and Sport alloy wheels, all contributing to the EV’s strong road presence. Additionally, the EV will be available in 14 different exterior color combinations. Depending upon the grade, the dual-tone color finish allows customers to select the body color with a black or grey roof option for more distinctive and personalized tastes.

The electric version of Nissan Micra will maintain an elegant theme that has been the core strength of the model since its initial debut in global markets. The latest model will also continue to blend Japanese heritage through subtle and hidden design features. The electric vehicle is said to have Mount Fuji-themed styling between the front seats.
The driver dashboard also seems refined, with a three-spoke steering wheel and a 10.1-inch configurable display behind it for easy navigation and access to important vehicle information. In the center, it will pack an additional 10.1-inch touchscreen display. While the front and rear seats will depend upon the variant, the customers will have three primary options for interior ambiance and premium feel: Modern, Audacious, and Chill.

The Micra EV will position it as one of the best electric hatchbacks for busy roads and tight turns, as it measures under 4 meters in length and 1.8 meters in width. Interestingly, Nissan has confirmed that it will offer the new Micra in only a five-door configuration, maximizing its practicality for daily use. The buyers will have 326 liters of storage capacity, up from other models in the segment.

The EV will get two battery pack options, 40kW and 52kW. While the 40kW variant will have the capacity to produce 90kW of maximum power output and 225 Nm of torque, the 52kW option will provide 110kW of maximum power delivery and 245 Nm of torque. In the 40kW variant, the customers can expect 308 km of top range, while the 52kW variant can offer up to 408 km of range. The new Micra EV will offer one of the best quick charge options. It supports 100 kW DC charging on 52 kWh (or 80 kW on the 40 kWh version), ensuring quick charging of 15-80% in 30 minutes.
Nissan has already confirmed that the all-new, sixth generation of iconic Micra is ready to debut in 2025 and is specifically designed for European markets. As of now, there is no confirmation about the launch of the Micra EV in the UAE. However, considering the growth in demand for electric vehicles in the UAE, Nissan could consider bringing this electric hatchback in the coming years.
As part of Nissan’s revival plan to again gain a competitive position in global markets, the Japanese automobile manufacturer recently announced plans to focus on the launch of more SUVs in the UAE and other Middle East markets in the coming years.
