Al Tayer Motors has launched a new DEEPAL S05 Electric SUV in the UAE automobile market, introducing the second model from Changan’s EV brand in a span of just four months. Previously, the official distributor of DEEPAL cars launched DEEPAL S07, a larger fully-electric SUV than the newly launched S05 EV.
The DEEPAL S05 has been offered in two options: a fully electric version with 460 km of range and a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) variant that offers 160 km of pure electric range and a fuel-based generator that extends the top combined range to 900 km.
Based on the Changan Platform Architecture (CPA), the new S05 features a modern, stylish design with frameless windows, hidden door handles, and a sloping roofline. It also gets distinctive Smart Flying Wing headlights with a luminous signature. The electric SUV has a wheelbase of 2,880 mm and a length of 4,620 mm.
The cabin space of DEEPAL S05 looks high-tech, with a 15.4-inch central display and futuristic AR head-up display (HUD). Additional features like a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging unit, Queen-class seats with power adjustment and ventilation for front passengers, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip to power the infotainment system are standard.
DEEPAL has offered voice interaction, over-the-air software updates, app-based remote controls, and online connect and navigation services for connectivity features.

Under the hood, the EV packs a 160kW electric motor in the REEV variant, while the all-electric variant gets a more powerful 175kW unit. The REEV option also comprises a 1.5-liter petrol engine that is a generator to power the electric motor for better range capabilities.
Both variants of S05 are capable of accelerating 0-100 km/h in less than 8 seconds, making it one of the fastest electric SUVs in its segment. DEEPAL claims that the BEV variant of the S05 SUV can be charged from 30% to 80% in 15 minutes, while 20 minutes on the REEV variant.
Several safety features are provided in the DEEPAL S05 electric SUV, including an Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC) system, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, and a full suite of passive safety features. All in all, the S05 SUV is a very safe electric vehicle offered by EEPAL in the UAE market.
Al Tayer Motors has launched the DEEPAL S05 at a starting price of AED 89,900 and is available across authorized showrooms in the UAE.
