Toyota has unveiled the sixth-generation 2026 RAV4 with smart features, bold design, and fully electrified powertrain options. Toyota RAV is the brand's best-selling compact SUV in the American and Middle East markets. The new RAV4 has been reimagined in three bold design themes - Core, Rugged, and Sport, covering a broader range of customers looking for unique styling, tech, and performance.
As part of the 2026 upgrade, the Toyota RAV4 is introduced in hybrid electric and plug-in hybrid electric powertrain options. The SUV also gets new performance capabilities, high-tech interiors, and distinctive trims, including GR SPORT and Woodland edition.
Toyota has launched the sixth generation of RAV4 in three unique design dimensions:
Core Design: It packs a refined yet rugged profile with Toyota's hammerhead grille and sleek painted matched finishes. The Core theme is available in LE, XLE, and Limited trims.
Rugged Design: Focused on adventure trips, it's the Woodland grade that comes with enhanced ground clearance, standard AWD, roof rails, and all-terrain tyres. It also gets an off-road LED lighting setup across the exterior.
Sport Design: Offered in the new RAV4 GR Sport, this variant is inspired by motorsport and has GR-tuned suspensions, sporty spoilers, aggressive 20-inch wheels, and a PHEV-only powertrain setup.
Inside the cabin, there is a reinforced interior design that focuses on convenience, comfort, and technology. The SUV has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as standard, along with a 10.5-inch or 12.9-inch infotainment display with Toyota's latest Audio Multimedia system.
Features like shift-by-wire, smart storage integration, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto are also available. In select variants, customers can also see a head-up display, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, unique touches like Woodland's vibrant orange accents or GR-SPORT's sporty paddle shifters.
As a next-generation RAV4 SUV, the vehicle comes equipped with the brand's next-generation software development platform that powers both the in-car experience and the Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 system. The Japanese automobile manufacturer has also offered new color options like Urban Rock, Meteor Shower, Storm Cloud, and Everest, as well as dual-tone paint options like Supersonic Red with Black Roof on the GR SPORT.
The new Toyota RAV4 is available in two electrified powertrain options, HEV and PHEV. The Hybrid (HEV) variant comes with Toyota's 5th-generation hybrid setup that makes up 236 horsepower in AWD trim and 226 horsepower in FWD trim. There is a more powerful plug-in hybrid or PHEV powertrain setup also available, offering 320 horsepower and 80 km of pure electric range. This plug-in system also has fast charging capabilities and packs an AWD system as standard.
Toyota has developed the new RAV4 on its advanced TNGA-K platform, which is primarily known for rigidity, superior ride comfort, and a quiet cabin experience. It features upgraded suspension mounting points and new high-damping adhesive that reduces noise and vibration for a premium ride experience. Toyota's compact SUV has 1587 kg of towing capability in PHEV AWD models and up to 800 kg in FWD and base AWD variants.
