Toyota has confirmed that its 2026 bZ BEV will be better regarding range, power delivery, and design. The new model will have a larger lithium-ion battery pack with up to 74.7 kWh capacity, offered in XLE FWD Plus, XLE AWD, and Limited variants. The update will ensure the Toyota electric SUV can achieve a maximum range of over 500 km on the range over 500 km in a single charge.

The 2026 bZ SUV is equipped with a North American Charging System (NACS) port and supports numerous high-speed charging stations in the country. In normal conditions, a DC fast charging system can charge the battery 10%-80% in 30 minutes. The Plug & Charge capability of the EV simplifies the charging process as it automatically identifies and authorizes the select networks. It also supports an 11kW onboard AC charger that works smoothly in home and public level 2 charging.
Toyota has equipped the 2026 model with eAxles enhanced by silicon carbide semiconductors, offering higher power delivery and efficiency. The AWD models now can churn 338 horsepower and achieve 0-100 km/h speed in 4.9 seconds, while the FWD variants can produce a maximum of 221 hp. The previous FWD variants can produce up to 201 horsepower. Additionally, the e-TNGA platform offers a low center of gravity and agile handling. On the other hand, the AWD variants come with X-Mode with Grip-Control for better control when driving in off-road and uneven terrain.

Toyota has refined the exterior profile of the latest version of its bZ electric SUV as it now gets a sportier, sleeker silhouette. The SUV also packs slim LED DRLs, hammerhead-inspired front fascia, and optional color-matched over-fenders for a more futuristic appeal. Customers now have the option of single and dual-tone colors, including Wind Chill Pearl, Heavy Metal, and Black.

Inside the cabin, the Toyota bZ electric has an updated 14-inch multimedia touchscreen, dual wireless smartphone chargers, 64-color ambient lighting, and a heated SofTex-trimmed steering wheel as standard. For a comfortable seating environment for occupants, the automaker has 42.1 inches of front legroom and 35.3 inches of rear legroom.
For improved efficiency, the EV gets a battery thermal management system, heat pump climate control, and pre-conditioning for fast charging so that the battery can deliver optimal efficiency. The bZ SUV also comes with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 as standard, comprising several safety features like a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams.
