GAC Motor has recently unveiled its new premium electric brand, Hyptec, in the UAE. In collaboration with Gargash Motors, GAC launched its Hyptec in an event at the Dubai Exhibition Center, significantly increasing the brand's presence in the UAE automobile market. The automaker launched the Hyptec HT, an all-electric SUV designed for modern urban living. It also showcased its Hyptec SSR, a bold all-electric supercar, and an Aion ES electric sedan. While not launched now, the Hyptec SSR gives a glimpse of the future production of supercars from this Chinese automobile brand.

Unlike other electric vehicles, the Hyptec SUV has a bold, futuristic exterior design. In the front, it packs a closed-off grille flanked by sharp LED headlights with diamond-cut elements. The body reflects a coupe-like silhouette with smooth curves, larger wheel arches, and pop-out door handles. A noticeable design element is its rear gull-wing doors on select variants, adding to the premium visual touch and increased access to rear seats.
On the rear, it gets a full-width LED taillight bar, a sporty roof spoiler, and a sculpted bumper with integrated fog lights. The GAC electric SUV measures 4,935 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,700 mm in height. Additionally, it has a ground clearance of 150 mm and a wheelbase of 2,935 mm.

The seats are comfortable and finished in high-quality upholstery with ample legroom and headroom for front and rear passengers. The wide cabin and flat floor design offer a roomy feel and have a large boot space of 725 liters. The EV has regenerative braking functioning, V2L powering, multiple driver modes for better range and performance efficiency, and ambient lighting.

There is a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch infotainment display, a wireless charging unit, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 22-speaker premium sound system, and dual-zone climate control. The Hyptec HT SUV has several safety features, including seven airbags.
The Hyptec HT all-electric SUV has a 250kW electric motor and 83kWh battery pack, delivering 335 horsepower and 430 Nm of peak torque. GAC has claimed that the Hyptec HT SUV can provide a maximum range of 600 km and accelerate 0-100 km in 5.8 seconds with a top speed of 183 km/h. The EV can also be charged 10-70% in 15 minutes, making it a great option for city electric car buyers requiring fast-charging electric vehicles for their everyday commute.

The Hyptec HT Premium comes at a starting price of AED 177,900, while the Hyptec HT Ultra (Gull-Wing) is priced at AED 189,900. GAC has provided seven exterior and two interior color options for Hyptec HT customers. The bookings for this electric SUV have commenced already, and deliveries are said to be underway.
The Hyptec SSR is an all-electric supercar specifically designed for high-performance requirements by ensuring striking design elements. It gets a powerful electric powertrain that churns up 1224 horsepower and 1230 Nm of torque and can accelerate 0-100 km/h in 1.9 seconds. It's confirmed to have either an RWD or AWD system, three electric motors, one in front and two in the rear for smooth acceleration, and a two-speed gearbox. The lightweight aluminum frame and full carbon fiber body make the EV more durable while maintaining its premium exterior styling.

GAC has offered double wishbone suspensions at both ends, carbon ceramic brakes, and active aerodynamics for superior performance. The SSR has a 74.69 kWh battery with a CLTC range of 506 km and supports 900V high-voltage fast charging. The Hyptec SSR is available in three variants in China with a starting price of ¥1,286,000 (approx. AED 652,500). While the automaker showcased this flagship electric supercar, SSR sales in the UAE haven't started yet. The customers have to wait a few weeks to a month for this premium EV from GAC Hyptec.
